Abri Credit Union's Two $1,000 College Scholarship Winners
The Abri Credit Union scholarship program awards $1,000 each to one graduating high school senior and one current college student to use towards their college tuition. ACU is thrilled to announce the 2025 winners: Milan Djurcic and Raquel Young! Applicants were asked to submit either a 60-second video or a 500-word essay presenting a clear and creative message on one of two topics. This year's winners addressed different subjects, but both provided outstanding essays that were selected as this year's winning entries.

Milan Djurcic is currently a high school senior at Glenbard South High School. He plans to major in Computer Engineering at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. His dream job is to become a software, hardware, or electrical engineer. Milan's winning essay focused on the biggest financial challenges facing young adults today and how they can be addressed. |

Raquel Young |
Raquel Young is a current college student at Lewis University. She is currently pursuing her Master of Arts degree with dual licensure in Early Childhood Education and Early Childhood Special Education with ESL Endorsement. Her dream job would be to develop an inclusive learning center for children and families where children can have an inclusive educational environment and adults can have the opportiunity to obtain their GED and learn parenting, trade, or financial planning skills. Raquel's essay explored how budgeting helps young adults track spending and develop financial discipline. |
