New Abri President/CEO  

The Board of Directors of Abri Credit Union is pleased to announce their unanimous selection of Colleen Brooks, MBA, CCUE as the credit union’s next President and CEO.

Brooks has devoted her entire career to the credit union industry. She began at Great Lakes Credit Union in human resources and training. Brooks later moved to Abri Credit Union in human resources creating many efficiencies for the credit union as well as initiating their first training and development program. During her 19-year tenure, she served as AVP of Human Resources and later VP of HR & Risk Management revamping the credit union’s risk management function. Most recently, Brooks was promoted to SVP of Administration adding compliance to her areas of oversight. Brooks holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Illinois at Urbana and an MBA from the University of St. Francis in Joliet.

Brooks is also a Certified Credit Union Executive (CCUE), a Credit Union Enterprise Risk Management Expert (CUERME), a Credit Union HR Compliance Professional (CUHRC) and holds both a SHRM-SCP and a SPHR designation as well as a Certification in Mergers and Acquisitions. She served on Raddon’s HR Advisory Board, America’s Credit Unions’ HR Advisory Board and locally served on the Will County Workforce Investment Board including their Youth Council and their Legislative Committee.

She officially assumed the President and CEO position on September 14, 2024, following the retirement of Brian Cedergren who retired after 17 years with Abri.
